I just seem to be able to keep the car from spinning out. I manage a small drift every now and then but not much.

Hey dude, I just upgraded from a g29 wheel to T300 and can tell you it’s 100x better for drifting. It self steers and kicks out immediately. Also the larger diameter wheel (12” on mine) is more precise to control.

I can drift 4wd ok ish but I want to drift RWD. and after watching a few tutorial I realise that throttle control is key to NOT getting the car to spin out like you said. and have just discovered that you don't need 500+HP. I was trying to learn in a 400hp bmw but I couldn't stop it from spinning out, then I tried a Toyota Corolla with 150 ish and its started ti come together I can initiate and almost sustain small drifts now.
