Another great video. In 2015 they released Party Uncovered and Unplugged which removes all the party sounds, so you can hear the music as originally recorded. The vinyl version includes just the 12 tracks from the album, the CD version is 2 CDs with lots of outtakes and such.

Charley Pride had a big hit with Mountain of Love. Dennis doing You've Got to Hide Your Life Away sounds like Brian in the early 70s. Always funny that one of the Beach Boys' biggest songs had Dean Torrence on lead. Great job!

One of your best episodes Jeff.
I bought this years ago at Sam's Jams in Ferndale MI. One that I thought would be pretty cool. But like you said, that fake party atmosphere made listening a chore. MOUNTAIN OF LOVE could be my fave from this. I love The Who's cover of BARBARA ANN as well.

Bob Dylan recorded with Brian on his second unreleased solo album SWEET INSANITY. A bootleg gem.

Well this was an interesting installment from you. The idea of the party noise sounds irritating but the concept is interesting. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard this album. Nice one Jeff!

If people want to hear music from a *real* Beach Boys party, they should search for the "Fendertones" and one of their great versions of Beach Boys classics such as, "You're Too Good to Me, " "Monkey's Uncle, " "Do You Want to Dance" and "Sloop John B."! They are a lot of fun!

Completely disposable, especially with the phony and distracting party effects. Too bad they didn't think to make a true and serious unplugged concert that people could just play at their own parties. It could have been a classic. I guess nobody thought of that at the time. But "Barbara Ann" is fun, and the party-less version of "Devoted to You" is quite lovely.
