You need to explain rise and run better. Stairs aren't built by angles. Most are 7 rise 11 run. Can be 12 run for comfort.

I’ve been a general contractor for over 40 years now…my rule of thumb is total rise divided into the nearest 7”…this offers the closest near code comfortable rise…it could be 6.75” or 7.25” but near 7”…run works from there as long as it’s near 11”….headroom and misc. other factors do determine the ultimate result…

The steps I built for my wife who has spinal stenosis are 5" rise and 11" run because she can't lift her legs any higher. Comfort is an individual choice based on your physical condition.

Also, take into consideration the age and fitness of your client(s). Geriatric clients will often appreciate the ease of lower rise/run. Building codes specify a range, not a specific pitch.

There’s code for that in commercial buildings and residential.
7 inch riser and 10 inch run. You can fudge those number a bit but not a lot.
Any set of stairs can be installed in any situ fairly close to that.

there are laws and building codes to consider as well. can't just go around buliding 50° stair cases 😅

I was a carpenter for 40 years. Just calculate rise and run based on a 71/2 inch rise. By code, you can't be less than 6 or more than 8 5/16. 7.5 is a good compromise and a comfortable step. If your rise doesn't devide evenly by 7.5 adjust plus or minus until it does.

I’ve built stairs for 40 years. It’s about the rise being between 7-8” and the run being min 10.5 “ which is pushing it to 11 -12” which is standard. At no time did I ever calculate angles. And it’s important that all steps be the same height because of muscle memory and the hazard of tripping.

I like to alternate between 6 and 8 in rises...😊 helps prevent people running up the stairs.

Architecture school 40 years ago: 2R + T = 24 to 25 inches. Max R = 7 1/4”

If you have the space the longest tread with the shortest rise is always the safest for both the very young and old.

For industrial basic layouts, to get a realistic use of space for a stair, i would use 180 mm up, 225 mm run and 25 mm overlap, so a 1, 25 ratio which is about 38 degrees.

I was working as an electrician building an department store. The escalators were installed but not on. Short rise, long tread. We used them as stairs and they would wear you out.

First you might want to think about codes and what the tallest and shortest rise allowable are. This also applies to the run.
Most of the time when you're cutting stairs you have fixed points that they have to land at for both rise and run. I've seldom had the luxury of just cutting stringers to some arbitrary number based on a comfortable angle. You have to get from A to B while keeping the rise and run within code.

The older you get the better that 1st stair is. I’d take the first if possible.

That has to be some pretty fancy level. I've never seen a level that tells you the exact angle in degrees.

You can have 6-9.5 (7-9 for comfort) rise and 9.5-13 (10-12 for comfort) run.
You adjust in those parameters depending on how much room you have with steps and to make sure they are all equal sizes.

7/11. Rise/run. Get as close as it can to that. Very simple math to get what you need.
