That was a nice David Byrne impression 😂

My friend who produces does the same thing, sometimes with dumb lyrics about his dogs. Sometimes he’ll find a nonsense phrase that’s hard to replace because it fits so well with the melody.

I love her impression of David, I don't think Annie realizes how funny she is.

St. Vincent sounded just like David Byrne. That was funny😊.

I can't fathom having a lyric before the melody. I need the melody to make me feel something enough to inspire a lyric.

I like this. Nile Rogers told a story about getting an almost nursery rhyme like bit from David Bowie, with him saying "I think it's going to be a hit". Nile worked into what we now know as LET'S DANCE.

It's incredibly common to sing gibberish over music to come up with the melody. I'm surprised she hadn't thought about it before.

I listened to the 'draft' of Avalon by roxy music then called Horoscope and Bryan Ferry sang exactly the same. Hardly any words at all.

I heard one of these bands that make up words and/or nonsense phrases proclaim "sound is sense". Flow matters, so 🤷 y get hung up on the lyrics?

I don't understand how she is supposed to be considered some genius song writer arranger yet she didn't understand the concept of having a melody before you figure it out the lyrics😂 Like she seriously never came up with a melody and then put lyrics to it afterwards

You know, that nothing is making sense until you stop thinking of that a mashine of song writing processes nothing really matters before musicians and all other artists are going to make sense of their uniting powers of all crazynesses to be politically changing the world in the best ways you just can. The only fault is, that annie perfectly artists are just like autistic narcissists which are focused to be loved for something which needs to simply okay. When words and thoughts are wrapped in the big grey suit of a humming rhythm, you can open it up one day when you're getting it out closer.

I just can't predict but just feeling that there isn't so much time left to use this freedom the leaders of the music mashine will give you at a long line.

You're in the middle of this time and knowledges

She's talented but people are calling her a guitar god and I'm really unimpressed.

To put out the process she envelopes is beautiful...
Not for me tho...melody always precedes "wrap"...David Byrne is an animal unto his own.

"Is he ok ?"... really? Well it's simply a difference of whether you think the content (lyrics) are the priority in the song, or if you think the form (the sound, melody etc) is the priority. A song is a song. The form supercedes the content, in my estimation. Maybe that's why I can't stand her music . Lol I'm a painter and any time I have tried to prioritize the content /idea/ meaning before the form (the color, composition, texture, etc) , it always sucks. 😆
