Age of Mythology editor tutorial. PART 1 of 2.

This tutorial will show you how to do the most basic things in age of mythology, I am making a part 2 for this video and it's on the more advanced age of mythology tools.
This video includes:

-How to place units building and nature.
-Placing mountains and water.
-Changing terrain.
-Easy way to place walls.
-Changing amount of start resources.
-Changing the number of population.
-How to test your creation.
-And so much more.

Atlantean gain favour by holding their town centre or settlements. The more claimed settlements the faster favour generation.

Thank you for this vid! I remember playing this when it first came out when my dad bought it for me at Wal Mart on his way home from work, because he thought it looked badass.. I'm 32 now and downloaded the Extended Edition two days ago on Steam and played again for the first time in over a decade. It's exactly how I remember it and I never forgot how much fun I had in the editor. I'd say it's the best map editor on any game I've played. I only came here for a quick brush up, and now it's off to map designing!!! I can't wait I'm so excited!! Probably the No. 1 strat game I've ever played, partly because I'm an ancient history buff and always have been since I first played it. I'm also Norse decent.

Thx for the video, I just recovered this game on my laptop and I like messing around with the editor but I had no idea how to work it, and Atlantians gain favor based on how many town centers they have if you didn't already know

I am wanting to create maps to play against myself, not online. But I don't know if that is what the editor allows for, does it? Every time I try to, the "enemy" I have created doesn't do anything, just stands there.

this video has shown me some things i didn't know about! thanks. i was thinking of making Atlantis themed map. instead of islands its going to be one big map..maybe with shallow water around my area to make it look pretty, like in the story mode of the titans story.

Hi! Why is my editor IU different than yours? I can't see most of the options you have on the right of the tool bar, and same happens with all the menus.

a bit outdated but i have nottud's mod too, everytime when i place hoplites they are in their first form, half naked you know like your in the video.How can i get them to be like champions hoplites and etc?

Hey mate, I've set up a scenario where I've set the diplomacy of all teams through the scenario editor. My goal was to play this online with a few of my friends, but the diplomacy settings I set are overwritten by whatever has been set in the online game set up. It's pretty unique diplomacy settings that I can't replicate via the online settings - any tips?
