Generally, cougars are more afraid of you than you are of them. When it comes to humans, they are very elusive.

My dad was out hunting in Washington state years ago. He was walking on a narrow path on a hillside. He felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up. When he looked around he realized a cougar was stalking him on the ridge just above his head. He only carried a muzzle-loader--one shot, as he felt it gave the elk a fighting chance. The cougar followed him for quite some time. After that he always carried a pistol with him when he was out alone in the woods.

My sister and her dad were out hunting. She was in her yard, and walked too close to a bush. A cougar jumped out, and her dad shot its head midair. It didn't touch my sister.

I live in Colorado and I usually hear of 3/4 attacks or incidents a year. There was one a few years ago, a girl mountain biking was attacked and she had to have her face sewn back on but she survived.

My dad had one jump out of a tree at him and they fell off a cliff. He now has that sucker hanging on his wall.

I was walking my dog at Kits Beach here in Vancouver couple years ago for his nightly walk before bed and we had to run home few blocks because we saw a cougar following us on the sand just chilling at the beach!! We spotted it and creeped away as quickly as possible then ran once we got to the street lights! Good thing I lived only 2 blocks away!! It’s crazy here in Vancouver, we have massive grizzly bears 🐻 walking around everywhere and you don’t ever want to see a black bear because they are extremely vicious and will attack. Not to be outdone the cougars are roaming the streets periodically thank goodness not all the time. Unlike the grizzlies, they are everywhere all the time. Cub season is particularly dangerous due to mommas protecting their babies. We just learn to live around these massive killing machines!!

I used to think that if i encountered the Andrex Puppy, i might be able to wrestle the toilet tissue from its grip. But after watching this video, if it were a cougar, i might have to forgo the use of toilet roll until i had been back to the store.

My domesticated house cat has the same look in his eyes. They say domesticated cats are more like their ancestors or their big. Cat cousins than dogs. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

And now they want to ban Mountain Lion hunting in Colorado cause of the irrational feelings of animal rights extremists who stereotype against hunting as for “sport and trophy”. Instead of letting the professionals, a.k.a. the biologists do their work with science management.
