Russian and Chinese naval warships have conducted joint anti-submarine missions in the northwestern Pacific Ocean as part of an ongoing patrol in the Asia-Pacific region, according to a report by the Russian Defence Ministry on October 8. Footage released by the ministry showed a "tactical group of warships maneuvering and forming a marching order to organise anti-submarine defence."

The patrol follows the Beibu/Interaction 2024 naval exercises in September, with additional training and combat drills scheduled during the mission, including rescue operations at sea. From Russia, the large anti-submarine destroyers Admiral Panteleyev and Admiral Tributs participated, while China was represented by destroyers Xining and Wuxi, along with the frigate Linyi and the integrated supply ship Taihu.
