Mark thinks he’s always right. He’s very unlikeable

Mad props to the patience and tolerance it took to have this conversation and keep it from going off the rails. You're a better man than me👍🏻.

Talking to this guy is a waste of time. It should come down to who do you think will do the best job for you. and the owner gets along with the person..

I really wish Vivek was still running.

Merit is such a simple concept. I have to assume Cuban is being paid for this DEI thinking, he can't be that stupid.

Mark Cuban proves dummies can be billionaires!

If mark was for diversity would hire more white guys for his team. Don’t matter how good they are just DEI. So for this I am out

Why did we lose?

We lost because we failed to apply the strategic lessons of warfare to the attack on our culture. We lost because we gave away the psychological environment. We spent 30 years playing by our opponents' rules of engagement instead of forcing them to play by ours. During that time, we imagined that all we had to do was be right, present our views logically, and provide reams of documentation. We were under attack, whereas we thought we were merely under disagreement. We said we just needed to understand each other. The truth was, our adversaries understood us better than we knew.

Outstanding point, V. I want an employee's overriding allegiance to be to the success of our business rather than bringing the business into alignment with the employee's specialty.

Mark seems to debate definitions, very little substance.

Love that we are having these discussions

At the end of the day the client only cares about the quality the Price and the service, so if you hire somebody it would be based on those principles.

It’s worth hearing the whole discussion vs snippets. They are both closer in spirit than this clip alludes to.

My roots go back, within my lifetime, to my paternal grandmother Miss Chrishy (née Christiana Brown, descendant of Hamilton Brown who is on record as plantation and slave owner and founder of Brown’s Town) Kamala Harris

As a Silicon Valley engineer myself, the scenario where a computer science engineer is hired straight out of college for his or her soft skills rather than their engineering skills is not one I'm familiar with.

To intentionally avoid hiring the best of the best for any reason will always be illogical and potentially dangerous.😮

As long as humans are responsible for hiring there will always be bias and some groups will either be excluded or limited. Not much has changed since the 1960's. Most people still give preference to people who look like them.

Vivek’s example misses the point on this one which is why Cubans response was like that. Vivek is saying why would I hire a pastry chef as my grill master. DEI is saying 3 grill masters of different races should all have an equal opportunity based on skill and not because one candidates reminds the hiring manager of his son.
