so I learnt
NEMO was based on a lie. clownfish parents don't give a shit about offsprings.

So clownfish don't lay their eggs away from the anemone? Seems that a little biological accuracy would have prevented Nemo's mother and many siblings from dying.

When Marlin finally had the confidence to get remarried.
Nemo found himself going from the only child to having 1, 500 step bothers and sisters.

2 dislikes? One does not simply dislike a video of clown fish hatchlings with sir David Attenborough as the commentary

You guys comparing this to Nemo know that if Nemo was accurate Nemos dad would become female over a 4 month period after his mate died and he would breed with Nemo

WOW. Loved this segment, I’m the owner of a saltwater aquarium and we’ve ALWAYS had clowns. They are so beautiful, lovely, and unique. Truly a treat to see something so special, thank you Smithsonian!!

Nobody’s talking about how those flowing sea things where the clown fish are chilling at looks so nice.

Is this really the first time this has been observed? In the reading hobby, I could've sworn I saw videos of spawning years ago. From the egg laying, fertilizing, fanning, and the growth from just a hobbyist. I kind of find it hard to believe this is the first.
