Rep. Phillips Questions Hong Kong Experts, Issues Condemnation of China

Rep. Phillips (MN-03) questioned Hong Kong experts on Beijing’s new National Security Law in Hong Kong, issuing an invitation to persecuted Hong Kongers in an emphatic rebuke of China. Echoing the words of his colleagues on both sides of the aisle, Rep. Phillips denounced the new National Security Law that gives China sweeping powers over Hong Kong in the wake of pro-democracy protests, and issued an invitation to citizens of Hong Kong who will face persecution under the new law. Phillips welcomed the effort by the international community to band together in support of Hong Kongers in their effort to promote freedom and democracy.
