I can’t decide what the most beautiful thing in this lovely movie is - the quiet but heartbroken acceptance of Anthony Hopkins’ character towards the inevitability of his fate, Brad Pitt’s Death reaching the impossible understanding of love and sacrifice from his cold but curious, matter-of-fact view of people in the beginning or the musical score.

Its the subtle little details that play on the subconscious... the ticking of the clock, signifying the eternal march of time towards our inevitable end... the way the clocks ticking, skips one beat as Joe answers the question "is he death?..."

This was the film where it hit me that this man could seriously act, and not just be beautiful. Such a surprising and delicately gentle film in so many ways.

Anthony’s walk into the room was masterful. I can think of no other actor doing it so well. I would never have expected Brad Pitt to come to Anthony so very well...but he did. I never underestimated Anthony but I did Brad Pitt totally.

This pairing of Hopkins and Pitt, was to me one is one of the best . Their acting was on such a level that it took you in, you were captured. I seen this film many times and learn every time .
