I think it’s interesting how Brad so easily vacillates between benign curiosity and pleasantness to dangerous threat not to be messed with in the last few seconds of this scene. I find him genuinely creepy and disturbing.

Did I miss it or did Brad never blink when the camera was on him? It gave the scene an unsettling touch.

What an amazing performance by Brad Pitt, to look down on and intimidate the *Sir* Anthony Hopkins so convincingly.

Such an underrated movie.
Anthony Hopkins is memorable even if he is reading the phonebook, but I think this was one of the first movies when people saw Brad Pitt and said "maybe the pretty boy can act"

Brilliant acting from both actors. Mentioned here is the range of Pitt's delivery between curious, pleasant and menacing, and all done in exquisite subtlety.
The same subtlety is masterfully demonstrated by Hopkin's acting. He is in shock, fear, dismay yet manages to maintain some sort of courtesy.

This movie was a remake of "Death Takes A Holiday" based on a 1924 Italian play "La Morte in Vacanza".

When your time on earth is so significant that DEATH itself manifests itself into a physical entity….:

Can you imagine how hard it is to control that blinking reflex and concentrate on the acting, the dialogue, the flat affect etc? Its actually astonishing considering...

Very different experience watching this when it first came out and watching it last night after seeing this video. You see death in a completely different way.

Excellent movie, one of Brads best. Even the ultra wealthy, realize that in the end, all that money and cars, mansions, trophy gfs, yachts, are just toys to amuse ones ego, and nothing more. We are all just food for the gods

One side the most handsome man in human history, the other, Brad Pitt. What a movie, I have watched at least 25 times.

Bill: “You’re Death.”

Joe: “Yes.”

Bill: “You’re very handsome, Death.”
