Spring carp fishing can be pretty slow when the water is cold. Water temperature is everything in the spring, and the warmer water you can find, the better chances of catching fish. More fishing videos, carp bait recipes, fishing gear list, and other good stuff linked below. Thanks for watching.

The last time I fished with snow was in the 1990's. I was trout fishing in a lake that didn't even open up for fishing until the first weekend in June.

This was in the actual South Park Colorado. The town in the TV show is a real town but it's not in South Park

Nice footage tom! I like the way you
Take the time to give us your view on your set up . Water temp. Wind direction and basic warter craft. Made some of your fruit loops boilies and paired it with my Cafe mocha pack bait. Didn't catch any carp. But the catfish absolutely loved it.

I finally had a tee shirt mission here in Wisconsin today! Caught a couple 8lbers from a new spot (always nice to break in a new venue!).
Even these modest fish now have some serious zip and are a blast to catch (AS YOU KNOW!). A very noticeable change in their fighting strength over the last few weeks. Thank goodness for the increasing water temps!
Just so you know you’ve got company, I’ve survived quite a few skunkings this year as we’ve awaited the arrival of spring!
Thanks for the video Tom!

Thanks Tom. I caught a common on Good Friday, zero up to this point after sixish tries. KC water is finally warming, so I have big expectations. Tight lines👍😎

Spomb's are ok for putting out a carpet of boilies, I suspect any spomb will fail with heavy pack baits, cheap ones even more as you've seen. Spods will handle it but even the ones with lots of holes can drag a bit on a slow retrieve, a fast reel can get them moving quickly enough so they skid on the surface. For me a catapult is still the quickest for getting bulk bait into a swim, and if the swim is out of it's range I just cast multiple packed feeders out until I've got enough bait in the swim to fish over. Thanks for the vid, tight lines.

Another good video, I guess that is one good thing about Calif. the spods are illegal so one less thing I have to buy and lug around. 😎😎😎

Those plastic spod bombs kinda suck, but they’re even more fragile in cold water. The cold makes the plastic more brittle. I find a break more early spring, then any other time of year. I do use them because they help i use boiled field corn and left over deer corn

Good to see ya back in a t-shirt. We are still in the low 50's. Getting tired of sweatshirts all the time.

How much does that catfish rod (im guessing 7ft) from waltmart probably can handle?? I saw the rod handles 15-30 but the reel looks like it can only handle 20lbs. But im not sure if the information is fake...

Check out the Spomb. They are not too pricey, reliable, and have one of the biggest payloads of any spod. I started out with one of those rockets and even with the holes they are tiresome to retrieve

Maybe you need to make your lead so it's flat on one side and doesn't roll. You'd have to make sure the flat side is heavier so it lands first.

Great video, What is the weight of the sinker and bait together?

Hi Tom where did you get that long handle net? I would like to get one to get my fish out of the canals around Phoenix AZ.
