VW ID. GTI Concept Previews 2026 Electric Hot Hatch
Показать описание
➡️ The world’s most famous hot hatch is going electric. The ID. GTI Concept revealed today at the IAA in Munich, Germany, is the first EV to wear the legendary GTI badge, and VW has already confirmed that a production version is in development.
It’s based on the ID.2all concept revealed earlier this year, and while VW isn’t talking power figures just yet, we do know that there’s a single, electric motor up front, driving the front wheels through an LSD, just like on the current ICE GTI. The hot EV even features fake gearshifts, though sadly not with a simulated manual transmission.
This time around the ‘I’ in GTI stands for intelligence, and you don’t need to expend much brain power to know that the hot hatch should serve up more than the 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS) promised by the original ID.2all concept, which VW said could reach 62 mph (100 kmh) in under 7 seconds.
The styling is littered with classic GTI references in and out, and the GTI Experience Control will even let you tweak the sound, throttle and chassis characteristics to mimic the personalities of past masters like the original 1976 GTI or 1986’s rev-happy 16-valve Mk2.
