Either you got the chill bus driver or you got the mean bus driver there is no in-between. This guy definitely qualifies as the chill bus driver.

One of our drivers that had been driving for probably 20+ years just had to quit. She left a preschooler alone on the bus for hours because she didnt check her bus.

As someone who has NEVER rode on a school bus that's had seatbelts, it's really weird seeing one for the first time

The alarm is good. It not only makes the driver walk back. It will wake anyone sleeping up

I don’t remember having any of this, the windows were those pain in the ass ones where you had to push the sides in to lower it, and even then you could only lower it like 6 inches before you couldn’t move it any farther. It was hot as hell in the Midwest during early summer on those buses

Busses didn’t have seatbelts when I was in school and I officially feel old now.

I remember when busses didn't have that. Or seat belts, you'd be lucky if they had an FM radio in the back

Wait, busses are capable of having seat belts?? Who knew 😂

for Child Checkmate Systems and most child reminder systems as long as the key remains in the ON/ACC position the alarm will not sound it will only start sounding when the key is turned OFF and the driver does not turn it back on unless it’s a timed system which would just sound after a set amount of time with the key off but the above is still true

As someone who was left on the bus on a 110 degree day all day never got off in the morning. And not until my mom called the bus barn to check the bus i was on after i would get home. I was still there in the back like a soggy wet noodle passed out. This was before those nice safety buttons to check. Its a life saver

I used to ride the bus to school and my bus driver that I always had was so fucking cool. Dude made me consider bus driving as an actual career and I’d sit up front and talk to him all the time lmao. I brought him presents on his birthdays and stuff because it didn’t feel like he got appreciated despite having to put up with all of us dumbass kids lol.

Back in the 80’s I woke up at the bus drivers house. Fortunately my grandparents lived next door albeit a half mile away I just walked over to their house.

Some people need these for their cars. They can remember their phones, but forget their children.

I was able to press the button once. I had some really really cool bus drivers. One was a combat veteran too

Thanks for all the miles you spent behind the wheel and dealing with all the b.s. you deal with.

We have the alarm here in Alabama in my school district but not the seat belts yet

Those buttons didn't exist when I was a kid. We also didn't have seatbelts on the busses either. I frequently sat near the driver because I preferred talking to them over talking with my peers, but then again, I'm autistic and busses full of kids put me into sensory overload at the end of my school day.

We don't shut our buses off in the morning here..

Back in elementary school, I used to do it. Ever since I got in middle and high, the driver doesn't shut the bus off since the bus route is an Elementary, Middle, and HS route.

My school bus driver let me press the button after arriving at school. Not only that, but collecting the only other passenger from another building to board the bus to go home. We had no matron. It was a mini bus too. It made me feel I was working for the company. I loved it.
