In all seriousness though, I made this video because I've seen a lot of people come over to our house who don't necessarily know how to pet a cat. While the concept of petting a cat is simple to most, others just don't understand why cats need to be pet a certain way. If you have cats the you know exactly what I mean when you see someone else petting your cat who doesn't have one themselves.

Sparta - from viral hit "The Mean Kitty Song" which now has over 80 million views to date. He's a Bengal mix, born sometime in mid-2007; I celebrate his b-day on May 20th. He rescued me in July of 2007. Sparta love stalking, wrestling, crunchy toys, playing fetch and being held like a baby.

Loki - the long white kitty that looks like a cow but I believe he may be part monkey. Loki is about the same age as Sparta, so we celebrate their birthdays together. He found me at a rescue center in July of 2008. He loves toys, making noise, hanging upside down, poking things and more than anything, he loves the love!

Oddly, both of my cats prefer full-body pets. Especially around the sensitive nether regions, Both are male, and both are velcro-kitties. If I'm home, they want to be with/on/over me. Never once has one given the enhanced, "you're doing it wrong" signal.

Ahh, the inviting belly fluff. We call that move the “bear trap”, when the kitty shows their fuzzy belly and springs the trap if you dare to pet the belly. Truly look but don’t touch although almost impossible to resist the cuteness. It is sometimes worth the scratches. 😉 💕🐱💕

Also some cats are weirdos and like belly rubs (my sister's cat Abby comes to mind), but it seems most don't so I'm not surprised you got that reaction from Sparta for trying it.
