How to Crochet an Oversized Sweater

WHAT I USED:
Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton in Camel (weight: light 4) - about 9 skeins for size S/M
5 mm & 3.75 mm hook
yarn needle
scissors
measuring tape

HOW TO WASH:
I recommend hand washing the crochet sweater with cold water and mild soap, ring it out gently & lay flat on towel to dry. If your using cotton yarn, heat can shrink your top so be careful!

Leave me any questions you have from this crochet tutorial in the comments & I'll get back to you guys. Thank you all for watching & please let me know of other crochet ideas or DIYs you’d like to see.

I have been crocheting for many years, I have taught many people to crochet, I have watched many, many crochet videos and I can say quite confidently that you are very clear and very easy to follow. That is not always an easy thing to do as everyone has a different thought process as to how they learn and understand. Great job!

I feel like winter is going to be over before I get to finish this project.

Hi! So I do like this tutorial a lot and has been easier than other tutorials for making sweaters but word of caution if you’re a left-handed crocheter like me make sure that you reverse everything especially when you get to where you make the bottom edging of the sweater or else you won’t be able to do a continuous 17 chains like she did around 13:20. Cause I had to cut off the yarn at the point and reattach it to the other end to make it more accessible for myself and I didn’t know this was happening since I’m following along while making this sweater.
also Amanda, I think that in future videos that you should give people that are left-handed crocheters a heads up on where they should start the reverse. Again thank you for the tutorial I super appreciate it!

Just ordered Loops and threads yarn in the color “Aran” for this sweater!!! It will be a beautiful warm buttery white color and perfect for fall. I’ve done huge blankets, and plenty of stuffies, but never clothing! I’m so excited I ordered one day delivery! Thank you for the amazing tutorial ahead of time since I watched it today so I could understand what I’ll be doing!

I’m living for this pumpkin spice color! I’m going to attempt this sweater, but also the advice at the end was really uplifting, as I have anxiety about how things are gonna turn out; I’m learning to allow creativity to have perfect expression of itself. Thanks so much ♥️

I am a veteran crocheter but only with blankets. I’m nervous about starting. Sweater, my first, but your video has given me ideas about I can incorporate your excellent instructions here and my own going to start with the Stuart back before I tackle the front with neckline. Excellent demo.

I love this video! I started making this sweater in November for my best friend, but the college life caught up. Long story short, I just finished it today and I tried it on for the first time. Thanks for inspiring me! I finally completed a real challenge—halter tops and hats are fun, but this sweater takes dedication to complete. This is my first long project. I did it in a pretty magenta color.

I really like this pattern! I was nearly finished with my size 2XL, but the sleeves were much too long. Thankfully, the slip stitches that are used to connect the garment parts are easy to undo! Yay! I am also closing the neck opening more than the directions call for to keep it from falling off my shoulders. Currently writing a pattern for my 2-year-old twin granddaughters using the ideas from this great pattern!

It took me a year while waiting for the yarn to be produced again. Today finally I'm joining the parts.
I'm excited about it.
