Jinibara Artist Interview: Jason Murphy

An interview with Jinibara painter Jason Murphy, onsite at Woodford Folk Festival.

Jason Murphy is a Jinibara artist representing the Dungadau clan. While much of his attention is spent outside the studio - representing his people in official business matters and studying for a PhD - he spends as much time as he can with his artwork. Jason favors using hand-cut stamps that mimic imagery from surrounding nature, a method he's used for over a decade. His use of color and flowing lines evokes a strong connection to the land and people from which he comes.
