Jinibara Artist: Uncle Noel Blair
Показать описание
An interview with Jinibara artist and elder Uncle Noel Blair, onsite at Woodford Folk Festival.
Uncle Noel is a Jinibara elder representing the Dungadau clan. Growing up near Cherbourg, Queensland and learning his clan's history with his family influenced his life's path and artistic leanings. His family encourages artistry - understanding its cultural importance - and while Uncle Noel doesn't self-identify as an artist, creative work has been a major part of his life. The woodburner has been his tool of choice for many years, and his mastery of the art is evident in his artefacts: boomerangs, spears and woomeras, clapsticks, walking sticks, bullroarers, and more.
