I debunked the argument that the Star Wars Sequels are good if you don't look at them as part of the Star Wars story, because that argument sucks.

I ignore the sequel trilogy because there is nothing there that is of note. there are some cool scenes or sequences that the writers tried to make a story around. Some of them felt organic to the scene, while others just felt like a random deus ex moment. and anything to do with rey just felt like Mary Sue is coming to the rescue. she needs to do this because she needs to do this. I believe Disney themselves said that they acknowledge that the sequels are a (mostly) big fail, and yeah, I agree that they are a fail. The prequels were so much better...

The sequels don’t continue the story of the originals, they take the characters and dangle them in your face just to say “look what we did” and then proceed to tell worse version of those stories.

People thinking Rey haters are sexist is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard. As far as I know most Star wars fans loved Jyn Erso. That’s because she had good writing, a good character development, and didn’t feel like a massive punch to the face. Rey is just lacking in everything and manages to deliver 2 punches to our faces.

Luke's character changed deeply, what would you do, really, when a new school that you made with potential Jedi, and then one apprentice even though a Skywalker your own blood, turns on you destroying everything you've done for years, destroying the Galaxy technically, and it was partly his fault, would you turn away like Luke, or try again and maybe just maybe make things even worse than they already are?

My thoughts on the sequels are is that they are mid at best, but compared to what we know Star Wars can do it’s really bad. LJ is the worst SW movie by far and FA and ROS are better. But characters aren’t developed enough and lots gets left behind in EP9 like Rose and Lando. The new sequel characters seem like characters mashed up - Rey is basically luke without flying skills, Finn is like Lando and Han (the gunslinger type character) and Poe takes Hans sass. They seem very similar to characters we already know. On top of that Kylo is literally Darth Vader but worst. That said Kylo probably is the most interesting character in the Trilogy because we actually see his character develop while Rey is literally in the same spot the whole trilogy. Finn can’t decide who he’s gonna simp for (Rey - EP7, Rose - EP8, Jahannna - EP9) And Poe, Zori and Hux literally never gets developed other than a few lines of Dialogue. Most fights are also terrible and the lightsaber fights are even worst. One thing the sequels did get right is all the cool space battles and planets they thought of (other then Jakku, basically Tatooine). ROS is my favorite because of the huge Space Battle at the end, the few cool gun fights and chase scenes and the story is decent. FA is the second with way too much resemblance to NH but still a decent movie. LJ literally dropped the ball on everything the FA started and just went completely off and a literal the middle hour of movie is literally everyone doing pretty much nothing. Finn and Rose are in a damn casino, Rey is like looking at herself in the mirror, kylo having random rage issues and Poe running around the main ship like he’s playing tag or something.

I thought FA was ok, then came TLJ. That abomination made me avoid everything Disney Star Wars. To this day, I haven’t seen anything Star Wars related since TLJ, and I’ve held to that.

I’ve seen a argument on how the sequels made Rey stupidly powerful in a year, this is not a valid argument. Anakin trained in the light side for more than 17 years, yet Luke, with absolutely NO combat skills, can get on anakins level in 4 years. Especially luke from the mandalorian.

It took rey one year to beat one of the weakest skywalkers

And it took Luke 4 years + the dark side to defeat Vader.


And how did rey beat palpatine? I mean how else would she beat him

I’ll argue that Force Awakens was a decent intro to the series. It’s certainly better than Phantom Menace, and that’s coming from someone who’s nostalgic for Phantom Movie.
I was excited to see what they were gonna do with Finn’s character, my family and I had a theory that Rey was gonna be Luke’s daughter that he abandoned/got rid of to protect her from the First Order. Kylo Ren was a cool character who was originally written to be Vader’s foil, where he cannot be saved because he doesn’t want to be.

Then the next two came out. And the writers didn’t even bother to consider the direction Force Awakens intended.
