Parallelogram Law:
Thus, the sum of two vectors P
and Q is obtained by attaching the two vectors to the same point A
and constructing a parallelogram, using P and Q as two sides of the
parallelogram . The diagonal that passes through A represents the sum of the vectors P and Q, and this sum is denoted by
P + Q.

2.1 Two forces are applied at point B of beam AB. Determine graphically the magnitude and direction of their resultant using (a) the
parallelogram law, (b) the triangle rule.
