Vector addition of multiple vectors can be done by putting them in series. Then the resultant vector would be the one that connects the tail of the first vector and head of the last vector.

So if a particle moves from point A to B and then it moves from point B to C, then we can represent this displacement from A to B and then B to C with a single vector by adding these two vectors. How we do this addition is by extending an arrow from the starting point of the first vector to the end point of the second vector. Then vector AC is the resultant vector.
