I have used True Temperament frets for nearly ten years. They are fantastic. They feel almost like regular frets under the fingers, and you can play chords anywhere on the neck without warble or unpleasantness.
It’s only drawbacks:
1- price!
2- can’t easily retrofit an old instrument

I used to enjoy recording on the digital 4/8 tracks cause I couldn’t see where I was on the beat and just went with feel. If there was clash, we’d do things like bury an acoustic in the mix and it’d just fill out the sound. It was an ear puzzle, not an eye puzzle.

This was a very timely video. I am getting back into recording after some years. When I look at the grid, I can see that I am slightly ahead or after the beat a little at times. My ears tell me that it's good, but the grid makes me think it needs to be redone or (gasp) edited. To watch a player like yourself interact with Protools was very enlightening.
