Time flies. The switch reveal was 3 jobs ago for me

I wish this was longer. I could sit here for an hour reminiscing on the Switch's life. Maybe a future video?

8 years is nothing for someone like me who leads a relaxed and sedentary lifestyle. But 8 years is an eternity to people used to a hectic lifestyle and in the world of tech.

The switch has a gigantic software library and many games on it and it has provided good company and memories for me. It is annoying for me to see people wishing it to die faster so that a new successor can come out.

I just noticed the green screen custom smash stage, phenomenal idea!

The switch was revealed before I went back to school, started a proper career, met my now wife, and bought a house. I feel like I have a completely different life at this point. And thinking of how different it'll be before the Switch 2 wraps up it's life is terrifying.

I was in my junior year of high school when it got announced and released, but I was out of the loop on most things at the time and didn't learn about it until July 2018 when a friend at camp whipped out his Switch on the drive over. He and I played Mario Odyssey together and I watched him play Breath of the Wild (I didn't know the bike was DLC and thought he'd modded his Switch). Now I'm out of college, married to the love of my life with whom I own a house! It's insane how time flies. Can't wait to see what's next, both with Nintendo and life!

I was still in high school when this thing got revealed. I've since graduated college and now work full time. What a journey!

I'll watch the 9 years Switch launch video too.

This feels like one of those jokes to make you feel older than you are by exaggerating how long it's been, until you realize it's actually been 8 years...

Since the reveal:

Ive gotten married.
Bought a home.
Had two kids.
Went from entry level job to director.

Its scary to think how much has happened in the span of the Switch being a thing. Life is fleeting. Enjoy every second you can.

6:37 If you look closely enough at that concert - you can see Zion with a 3DS trying to get a StreetPass 😄

I was a freshman in my university years when the Nintendo Switch was revealed. I was 18 years old! I didn't get my Switch until 2019 on my 21st birthday because of university stuff, but man time sure flies.

Man 8 years… in that time I have graduated college, gotten married, I have three children now. And my oldest plays Switch with me! Such an incredible journey and really just period of my life. ❤

Funny enough, I’ve actually done the rooftop thing and it was a blast with everyone that was there

I literally cried. It was such a fun idea.

I still play mine like a big 3ds 90% of the time. 🤷‍♂️

They really struck gold with the switch. It's still impressive to think about. It just easily docks to the TV and back to handheld when you take it off. No loading, no certain attachments needed. An amazing piece of hardware.

I'm dying for the switch 2 presentation

You guys make such great videos! I love how you keep things clean and fun. Always happy to watch, even if it's just reminiscing on the switch. Thanks for all you do!

Seeing all the Switch like PC/Steam game portables out there in the last few years, it's safe to say Nintendo is often a trend setter. They experiment, sometimes failing, and sometimes really really succeeding. Motion controls like Kinect and PS Move came as a result (likely) of the Wii's success. The parallax 3D on 3DS was a novelty but not quite a hook that others adopted. But the Switch? A portable that you can play full console games on while also being able to seemlessly play multiplayer on the go and use with a TV? This modular system just made so much sense, and I'm really excited for them to expand on the concept of letting players play how they want on Switch's successor.
