Quantum sensors may soon be able to detect subatomic interactions inside the cells in your body, here’s how.

Update: Quantum physics gets attention—and brighter funding prospects—in Congress
“In the coming weeks, the science committee of the House of Representatives is expected to introduce legislation calling for a new, 10-year-long National Quantum Initiative (NQI). The White House, for its part, is scheduled to formally launch a new panel that will guide the federal government's role in quantum science.”

When shallow defects align, diamonds shine for unprecedented quantum sensitivity
“Imagine a sensor so sensitive it can detect changes in the proton concentration of a single protein, within a single cell. This level of insight would reveal elusive quantum-scale dynamics of that protein's function, potentially even in real time, but demands a sensor with controllable features at a similar scale.”

Scientists pump up chances for quantum computing
“An international team has developed a ground-breaking single-electron "pump". The electron pump device developed by the researchers can produce one billion electrons per second and uses quantum mechanics to control them one-by-one. And it's so precise they have been able to use this device to measure the limitations of current electronics equipment.”

You're telling people how many nanometers are in...

An inch.
Just. Wow.

Another way diamonds can be used to look inside our bodies... diamond tipped saw blades.

When are you (finally) going to use/add the Metric system in your videos?

Or are your videos intented just for the US, Liberia and Myanmar?

crazy imperials using metrics when "nanometer" comes into play. why don't you make a new measurement which is 4.21 nanometers big and call it a pinkytoe.

There are 25.4 million nanometres in one INCH. Murica.

how much is an inch? Isn't this supposed to be a science channel?

Would this also help narrow down or completely eliminate unwanted side-effects by specifically tailoring drugs?

Goddamn inch, it completely messes up the information you are trying to pass

Could you please use the Metric system too in your videos? An Inch, feet, yard, miles are hard to comprehend.
And also, nobody outside america knows how big an american football field is I guess.

I want to introduce an amazing idea of mine being excited about this phenomenal experiment and it
is that, if we can study the Quantum mechanic activities in brain when it is alive and then we can study the Quantum mechanical activities when the brain cells dies and then we can compare both of the observations to analyse consciousness on a Quantum level to understand the mystery of life in an unprecedented level which can unlock many unknown aspects of life and consciousness.I know it going to be difficult but the future is surely very interesting and full of
hopes!!

I just learned a whole semester of Quantum Mechanics in just that video and it was much more understandable than what i learned at the university

Just a small correction, the NV state is measured using EPR and not NMR.

I want to be alive when this happens.
Why am I born into this finite world?

Not using the metric system? That's a quick unsub.

and 1 meter = 1 000 000 000 nanometers

go and start use metric system. You hurt yourselfs xD

Thank you for such a concise over view of the work on NVs.

The NV tech is rapidly being developed in Russia and with possible photon production. This effort out of Japan is a new angle for me.

How does the whole contraption look and interact though?
