Rosemary's Baby and Pet Semetary have been on my TBR list for a long time. Stirring the Sheets looks really interesting too.

I adored the book Stirring the Sheets. Lutzke has a way with words and a way of getting me in my feelings. Definitely adding Cry Your Way Home to my wish list.

I also read The Forgotten Island, Stirring The Sheets and Pet Semetary in 2019. Loved them all as well! And you’ve convinced me to try Cry Your Way Home, so thanks 😊. I’ve never read anything like it so I’m intrigued

Hi Rachel! I read Rosemary's Baby last year as well and absolutely loved it. However, its sequel, Son of Rosemary, was not as good. Other backlist horror books I've read last year that I really like are Right To Life and Old Flames both by Jack Ketchum, The Night Cyclist by Stephen Graham Jones, Skeleton Crew by Stephen King, Coraline by Neil Gaiman and The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker.

Okay you completely sold me on Cry Your Way Home. The forgotten island I have on my list from you mentioning it before as well. And I really want to read some of Chad’s work! I also feel the same with King, hit or miss and I also loved Pet Sematary and the audiobook was fantastic. Thanks for sharing. 🖤

Ahhhh. Pet Sematary! My favorite Stephen King novel. I devoured every Stephen King book I could get my hands on as a teenager. As an adult he’s a very hit or miss author. I did not enjoy Doctor Sleep and my The Shining reread was very eye opening. An original 5 star read dropped to 3! Very disappointed

The first two are going straight in my pile! I love when fairytales get a dark twist. I tackled the same audiobook of Pet Sematary this year and thought it was fantastic! I am currently working through the Twisted Ones.

Have you ever read a cosmology of monsters? It was a new release in 2019 and I just could NOT get into it. I was reading the audiobook and it was really great (sound effects, creepy music) but it was just too wierd.

If you liked Rosemary's Baby then I recommend The Sentinel and its sequel, The Guardian, both by Jeff Konvitz - The Sentinel was also a movie in the 70s and the book isn't great, but The Guardian is amazing! I just finished it and loved it!

I’ve only read two of these books, one was Stirring The Sheets. I read that in 2019 as well and loved it! The other is Pet Semetery. I want to read all these other books, too. Especially Rosemary’s Baby. It’s long overdue for me to read it, especially given how many times I’ve watched the movie.

Will read Camp Slaughter: Agreed: PET SEMATARY is my #1, my favorite Stephen King's horror novel and one of the best horror novels I have ever read. A must for anyone who enjoys horror.

A year old is not backlist, that still a recent release lol!!! 😀

I'm not a big horror reader which I'm sure I've mentioned before, but I read The Stepford Wives last year and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it and it was much creepier than I expected. Older stuff doesn't always work for me either, but modern classics are different I think. It made me want to read more Ira Levin, so I already added Rosemary's Baby to my list. I have seen the movie the original and the 2014 mini series, but it was long enough ago that I don't think I'll be spoiled. TFS :)
