Embracer Group is buying Tomb Raider from Square Enix, as well as a plethora of studios and IPs.
Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal and Square Enix Montréal are all up for sale.
Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, and over 50 back-catalogue games are also being sold in this deal.
Embracer Group are paying a whopping $300 million for all of this, according to recent reports.
Their recent press release explains this new acquisition includes a grand total of 1,100 employees over three studios and eight locations across the world.
The deal is expected to close during Q2 2022.
The studios will be joining others to fall under the Embracer banner, including Gearbox, THQ Nordic, and even Ghost Ship Games.
It seems as though the plan is to largely continue the work under Square Enix, but it will be interesting to see where else this acquisition goes!
