In this video I talk about what holistic fitness is and how it’s different than fitness in the traditional sense.

When you hear the word “fitness”, what comes to mind? Chances are it’s something about the body. Fitness today is all about improving physical health and changing the way you look on the outside.

While it’s important to have a strong, healthy body, physical wellness is only one dimension of wellness. The fitness industry and social media leans heavily on the physical dimension, often ignoring other aspects of wellness such as improving mental health and building a spiritual connection.

Holistic fitness promotes holistic health above all else. It looks at each individual as a whole person, not just physical health or body composition.

A fitness lifestyle is about more than reaching physique goals or performing better physically. The real meaning of fitness is to improve our quality of life in every way possible.

Physical growth and spiritual growth are different sides of the same coin. They both lead to one other and I think finding our own balance there is essential. I admire your your morals here.

Its awesome to see how introspective/self-reflective you are and how you articulate your message so well. I relate to this, and ALL of your videos for that matter, so so much. I think we’ve both realized that reaching a physical peak is cool but not the end. Mental health, social health is equally as important and I’m trying to push myself just as hard in those areas as I did in the gym. Cheers brotha!
