This is great; especially for those of us who are limited to Drupal 7; thank you!  Can I make any of my drupal pages (other than the home page) static like this?

Thanks for this - very helpful. However, I am getting a message that "Section field is required" when I try to create the basic page that I want for my static home page. I am at a loss. Any ideas?

Thanks for the video, by doing this are there effectively two URL's for the home page? EG. www.example.com and www.example.com/welcome? Would this not potentially cause SEO problems for duplicate content? Just checking as I am new to Drupal. I'm not sure if there is some sort of automatic URL redirect? Many thanks again
