How to play videos in Files app (Hey Apple, that's stupid)

You can't play MP4, MOV and videos in the FIles app on iPhone and iPad directly...

I cam play videos off a connected hard drive with quicklook in the files app, but when copied to the ipad pro 2018 the files app then won't play them, I then move them to the GoodReader app and they play no prob, GoodReader is so much better than Apple's files app it's silly.

I used to be able to play MP4 audio files on my phone a couple weeks back maybe three weeks back try listening to something again from the same app I was using to listen to Sermons and now I can’t hear anything nor will the video play. don’t know what I’ve done in between then and now for it not to work properly doesn’t make sense was working now it’s not.
Not sure if I have inadvertently clicked something off and don’t know what to click back on to get it working properly

I’m from the future. I have an MPEG-4 movie file saved in my files app that I can play, but there’s no way that I’ve found to cast it to my TV! Not with AirPlay anyway. I don’t have chromecast so idk if it would.
