Recipe:
6 cups powdered sugar split evenly in two bowls
10 ounces of mini marshmallows
3 tablespoons of water

Combine water and marshmallows and mix well

Microwave marshmallows for 3 minutes in 30 second intervals, stirring each time

Sift one bowl of powdered sugar into a large bowl

Make a well in the middle of the sifted sugar and pour in melted marshmallows

Sift the second bowl of powdered sugar into the marshmallow and sugar mixture and then knead until smooth (roughly 5 minutes)

Note: to color the fondant, use gel food coloring so that you do not compromise the texture

Tip: to mix the gel food colorant in, grease your hands with shortening first so that you do not stain your hands
*gloves may also work

Note: the more you work with the fondant, the warmer and softer it gets
To make the fondant harder, let it sit untouched

Recipe is 10 oz marshmallows
Six cups powdered sugar
3 tbsp water.
Combine water with marshmallows and microwave for no more than 3 minutes, stirred every 30 seconds. Sift half of the powdered sugar in a large bowl and pour marshmallow on top then sift the rest on top of that. Mix til like taffy which will take a lil while. Color as desired then store in plastic wrap.

I recently had my interest in cooking renewed, and here's a tip from something I've learned.
There's an easier way to melt the marshmallows: balance the microwave-safe mixing bowl on top of a pan of water boiling on the stove. That way you can keep an eye on it to decide when it's sufficiently melted, and even keep stirring as it heats up! It's called a _double boiler_ or _bain-marie._ It's also great for melting chocolate, melting butter, making meringue (which is just sugar in egg whites - but if you're not careful you'll end up with a sweet omelet), or working with other heat-sensitive ingredients. There are three things you need to be careful about with an ad-hoc double-boiler, though: the top dish needs to be microwave-safe, wide enough it won't fall in the water, and shallow enough it doesn't touch the bottom of the pan.
