Honestly the reason people hate Shane was because he was ahead of everybody and they could not comprehend that he everybody was bad

Shane just evolved too fast. No one could handle it. Season 8 Rick wouldn’t have killed Shane. But Shane was season 5 Rick in a season 1 world. Just was ahead of his time.

He actually used to be a good friend to Rick. And this is making me wanna rewatch S1 😅

Shane was one of very few people ready for the zombie apocalypse, but his heart was never fully there, he's forced to leave behind his best friend, taking care of his bf family, accepted his bf is now dead and begins falling in love with his bf wife, willing to take care of his bf kid, and when Rick suddenly returned, he's even more lost, becaming a villain because of it, and forced to kill his bf to continue living or die trying, well he's dead.
he's everything but evil, his last moment isn't even close to Rick willing to kill a husband (an abuser that is) and a father of 2 just because he's falling in love to that man's wife.
it's ironic, Rick became worse than Shane, but the thing is, Rick always had someone to hold his humanity intact, it was Hershel, and then Michonne, and everyone else.
Shane had nobody, he's hard carrying those season 1 survivors for months, and when he gone insane, he's dead, ZERO chance given.
