FE Review - Clarifications on FE Exam, Foreign Education and Credential Evaluation

Hello everyone,

Today I decided to put together a few questions I am seeing over and over online:

1) Can you help me with credential evaluation? I have a non-US University Engineering Diploma.
2) Can I sit for the FE exam if I don't have an US ABET Accredited Education?
3) If I attend the FE exam do I still need to make the education evaluation from NCEES?
4) Do I have to register as an undergrad in a university or college in case NCEES tells me one or two more classes to take the exam?

Bottom line for all of these questions is to verify with the State Board exactly what steps should you follow. Make the phone call, send an email, clarify for yourself the next steps in your journey.

Good Luck to you!

Hello, thank you for discussing this topic .
I'm from Egypt and I've passed the FE Mechanical exam, although my collage of course was not ABET, the exam is available in egypt as there is a partnership between the NCEES and the Egyptian Engineering Syndicate.

The question here is there are any differences between the exam here and in the US ? In other words, is my FE certification recognized in the US or I will need to take it again the US ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi I'm a Cameroonian. I don't have a BEng but have an MEng in mechanical design engineering and a Technical teacher diploma equivalent to what the canadians. The combination amounts to 6 years of post A level studies. I'm wondering whether I'm eligible to sit for the FE or I absolutely have to present a BEng ? Also does the FE require travelling to the US and what would the visa approval process look like?

I have civil engineering degree from Syria, I want to evaluate my degree, I have the translation documents but it translated from 4 years, Could I provide it to the university and they send it by mail or I have to ask them to issue new documents and they send it for NCEES after that?
I appreciate if you respond to my question
