Ford Escape SE v Toyota RAV4 | DRAG RACE

Who doesn't love drag races! Ford and Toyota have tons of competing vehicles and the Ford Escape and the Toyota RAV4 go head to head in tons of scenarios, but not many people have set them up in a drag race before. Well I did and this the results were in a way unexpected. These are the specs of each car:

Ford Escape SE:
Engine: 1.5L Ecoboost i3
- 181 HP
- 190 lbft
Transmission: 8 Speed Automatic
Front Wheel Drive

Toyota RAV4
Engine: 2.5L NA i4
- 203 HP
- 184 lbft
Transmission: 8 Speed Automatic
Front Wheel Drive

RAV4 is also NA and the 2.5 has been an excellent engine, the ecoboost 1.5 is new in 3 cyl form but the previous 4 cylinder ecoboost 1.5, 1.6, and 2.0 ecoboost engines were noted for coolant intrusion and for costing owners 8-10k just out of powertrain warranty for a new short block. Sorry but the Toyota is the better vehicle, and I’m a Ford fan.

Nice, better than the new ford escape, it is the 2010 Ford Escaoe 3.0 4WD Limited V6 engine.

If you do the test with the Rav4 when it came out with a 6-cylinder engine, not even the four-cylinder turbo could reach it.
