RIP Nick, you are sorely missed. Such a tragedy, I cry everytime I watch these episodes. Thank you for sharing Nick with us.

I used to love watching The Deadliest Catch and Below Deck and compare how each show's boats are treated. The former as "work trucks" and the latter as "Lamborghinis." Good stuff!

I like old Bill. It seems as long as you work hard and are honest w/him. He's a good capt to you.

Harley is the kind of guy that thinks everyone should move around him. Wild Bill is the type of guy that wont llift a finger unless it benefits him. So there ya go.

2:17 - Does that guy really go into the wheelhouse to ask Bill if he should get a crash bag? Speaking from zero knowledge or experience of boats, surely if someone if manoeuvring that close to the boat you're on, you automatically get a crash bag ready, just in case?

All the open water in front of him for use but he backs up to spin around. I wouldn't trust this guy in a prius.

I just found out today that Nick passed away. What a bummer, i really liked him on this show.

Tight maneuvers during gusty wind are delicate, so sometimes a close call will just happen and nobody is to blame for it. But the maneuvering vessel is always liable for what happens to (properly) docked vessels, so why the crew of the moving vessel didn't have fenders (that's what the "crash bags" are actually called) ready is beyond me. Why wouldn't the captain instruct them to get ready if they didn't do it on their own? Poor seamanship all around on that vessel...

how thick is that captain? is it so hard to leave the front mooring on and use the stern thruster to swing the boat around?

I can only imagine what it must've been like to assess the damage done to 'The Summer Bay' & 'The Southern Wind', respectively...

The insurance companies had themselves a field day, probably.
