I made this tonight and it is really amazingly delicious. I changed the steps up a bit and also added a half teaspoon of ground ginger. The flavor is really delicious.

First off, I cooked the onion separately in oil. Setting the caramelized onions aside, I cooked the chicken on a high heat and browned the meat slightly, but really browned the pan bottom (heavy bottom stainless steel fry pan). I added oil and water and loosened the pan drippings and then cooked the flour in the pan before adding everything together (I also added 1/2 cup of heavy cream) and let it to simmer. It is actually one of my favorite dishes now. It's really easy and turned out super delicious. A few minutes before serving, I sprinkled a layer of paprika over the top and it really finished off the flavors really well.

My husband couldn't stop eating it.

Thanks Todd!

Fantastic recipe. I had a massive chicken breast and I chopped up way too many mushrooms (about 3x the portion Todd made) so I adjusted it with an extra 1/4 cup milk and had to let it simmer a lot longer than the video and MAN was it good. Roughly $25 in ingredients (I had absolutely nothing) and it made at least 4 filling servings. I'm not a great cook but following your instructions I consider this one of the most complex meals I've ever made and I'm damn proud of it. Thank you for this video.

yes it is bacon. We just cut it thicker and in a different way here. I have noticed in america they cut it to include much more of the fat. Here we cut up so there is more bacon meant then fat.
