I just realized I've been singing in falsetto my entire life

I sing Regional Mexican music harmonies, and I can reach an A, but sometimes I'm required to sustain that note or go higher. That is when I must use my falsetto, just like a register on an accordion. I practice frequently to try to make my falsetto sound natural, by, when necessary, add vibrato, and definitely try to project it, so it matches the first vocalist's presence. It takes repetition and sincere self criticism. Not necessarily "practice makes perfect", but optimized practice makes perfect. Constant and never-ending improvement.

i am trying to learn how to use my falsetto voice because i am in choir, and my choir teacher (he’s a tenor) gave us this piece of music that goes really high into the falsetto for tenors. now, i’m a little bit of a late bloomer, so i started puberty not that long ago. my voice is changing quickly, and because of that i lost the good control i had over my voice. i’m hoping this exercise will help me with my falsetto. thank you for this!

Most of my songs in school are very high but sang in a soft voice so this is great for me.

Woah, I did not realize but I sound so much better in head voice than falsetto.
It also doesn't hurt my vocal chords.

That's awesome news that I could potentially develop my falsetto into head voice... been practicing "loved by the sun" by Tangerine Dream and John Anderson. It's a fun song (from the 80s movie Legend) with a lot of awesome buildup, but I've read that John wasn't singing falsetto (amazing singer, amazing range).

When I try out a falsetto, what comes out is just air and no sound at all. If I try to produce some sound, I end up applying a lot of pressure which fatigues my voice. Please help me out Sir.

About 4 years late to this video but thank you so much! My voice has dropped from a contralto down to a bass and I've been wondering why my falsetto sounded like air being squeaked out of a balloon. Now I know!
