Moiré Patterns - Scaling Circles and Lines

Показать описание
This Moiré pattern is generated by moving a linear grid against a circular grid. The circular grid corresponds to the silhouette of a cone seen from the top, while the liner grids corresponds to a plane. When the scale changes, the perception is as if the cross-angle between the plane and the cone is changed. The resulting patterns are conic sections - hyperbolas, parabolas and ellipses.

It is suggested to view the animation in HD and in full-screen mode, otherwise additional Moiré and antialias artifacts may appear.
