I’ve loved my aluminum Rimowa collection for years! Just a tip, the straps of the compression divider are intended to have belongings placed on top of them, and then the divider sits on top of your belongings and only the Velcro buckles are on the top of the divider. It works better in terms of compression and also is easier to pack :)

Gonna be purchasing my first Rimowa carry on and trying to decide between the classic and original cabin. I’ve seen a lot of reviews and your review is hands down the best one I’ve seen. I think I’m gonna go with the original as it definitely looks more sturdy and love the recessed locks. Definitely a good looking suitcase. Thank you for the excellent review.

I use a TekhnoMonster titanium carryon. Same issue as you, can't overpack, but that is expected in hardsided luggage. the nice thing about titanium is it is much lighter for a given strength than aluminum. the bad is costs 3x more than aluminum. so, pricey. for me though, I pack a ton of camera equipment in it that I would not trust in a lesser bag. I also use the smaller international size because I can not check all my Leica camera gear, no no no. Thanks and a good review!

It’s a striking piece of luggage. The weight is big con of aluminum though. I’m an over-packer- so I need to start with a light piece of luggage or I’ll be doomed, lol

Super helpful video! I'm almost ready to purchase another Rimowa, this time a carry on, but I'm debating between this size and the Cabin S (slightly smaller one). Have you ever had any difficulties with carrying it on with international flights? (I'm traveling from CA to London and thinking about getting this one for that.) I'm assuming because they are larger planes that this size is not an issue, but just curious about your experience. I've checked the Virgin Atlantic website and this size is slightly larger in dimensions than they have listed on their website for carry on, so that's why I'm a little concerned.

Rimowa might be somewhat sturdy. But, the pelican suitcases outshine them totally. Rimowa will totally get crushed and bent while pelican won't show extreme damage. I have both and for protection I use pelican. For looks i use Rimowa.
