Samsung Galaxy Tab A8: The Best S Pen Stylus

Which is the best stylus for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8? Well, there is no great stylus for this tablet. Active pens like the Samsung S Pen are not supported and yes, I did try them. You can use pens made for capacitive touchscreens but are much worth. I cannot recommend them for handwritten notes or precise drawings. They are fine, however, if you want something simple for a very young child to paint with. Nothing precise, though.

It's a little more expensive, but if you want a tablet with a pen on a budget for real art, seriously consider the S6 Lite. I've been using it for nearly a year now and it's honestly brilliant.

After asking which tablet would work with a stylus like the s pen, the guy at staples sold me a Samsung A8 and an S pen. Of course it didn't work. At first I thought it was me but checking on the Internet I started to get doubtful. And you finally put it right on the table and set it straight for me, thanks! I'm going tomorrow to return the tablet and get a compatible one...!

Good thing I watch this first. It saves me the trouble of purchasing an S pen for it. I should have researched this freaking tablet before buying it in the first place. I was actually torn between this and the Lenovo Smart Yoga tab but I grab this one just because it was cheaper than the Lenovo.

Samsung has not made a budget tablet with S-pen for several years. The S-pen capability is nowadays reserved for its “S” series of premium tablets, and this only applies to Galaxy Tab 3 and onwards. Tab S and Tab S2 were not S-pen compatible. Thus the following are all compatible with any S-pen ever made, but all have been shipped with S-pen in the box: Tab S3, Tab S4, Tab S6, Tab S6 Lite (2 versions), Tab S7 series, Tab S7Fe, Tab S8 series and now Tab S9 series. Tab S5e was not made compatible with S-pen.

Other S-pen compatible tablets from the past which may still be available used are - Note 8.0, Note 10.1, Tab A 7.9 with S-pen, Tab A 9.7 with S-pen, Tab A 10.1 with S-pen, Tab A 8.0 with S-pen. All of these have a small S-pen built-in a silo.

I bought a Hama capacitive pen with 4mm tip for my daughter (8), and she says it's good - better than painting with fingers on the A8 ;)
