Many times, someone will want to get rid of a fever as soon as possible. But, this is a big mistake. The normal temperature of the body is between 97.8-99 degrees Fahrenheit or 36.5-37.2 Celcius. These temperatures can vary slightly. Babies and children generally have a higher temperature. As we age, we run cooler.

The purpose of a fever is to fight pathogens and to help you decrease the duration of the infection. If you instantly try to break a fever, you could end up with the infection for longer than you should. A fever also helps mobilize and increase your white blood cells.

There are many natural things you can do to help speed up the cycle of an infection, such as:
1.Taking the right nutrients
• Calcium lactate, especially for kids
• Trace minerals

2. Fasting

When to call a doctor:
• 0-3 months — 100.4 F
• 3 months-3 years — 102.2 F
• 4-18 years — 104 F
• 18+ — 105 F

Generally, if the fever is lower, you may want to consider doing things to strengthen the immune system rather than automatically trying to turn off the fever with medications.

A few interesting points about body temperature:
1. When a person is lying, the temperature of their forehead, eyes, and neck may go up. But, the temperature of their nose may go down.

2. Consuming red hot chili peppers may cause your body temperature to go up. Peppers are also loaded with vitamin C.

3. People tend to sleep better in a colder room.

4. When you smoke, you may increase your temperature. (I don’t recommend smoking)

5. When you get a fever, you may want to enhance the fever by staying hot.

Growing up, we never ran to doctors or took meds for anything (partly because we had no $), but now we’re all so healthy it’s shocking to our friends. It’s good to let your body heal you the natural way.

Absolutely right. I never try to decrease fever. I actually try to drive it up... drink half a liter or more water, put extra clothes on, put a few extra blankets and go to bed. In the morning, I start sweating and fever is gone. been doing this for more than 30 years and never took any antibiotics to fight a sickness for the same amount of time. It works !

My ex wife is a great nurse, but any time the kids were slightly feverish, she would kick in the alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen. She looked at me like I was crazy when I would recommend we let minor fevers run their course, as if I was cruel and uncaring. It always confused me why medical industry teaches these things to nurses and doctors.

Important notes:
- take an hot bath
- sleep with a lot of clothes so you can sweat the fever out
- dont eat if not hungry ( fasting to stronger our immune system)
- eat spicy and hot things, red hot chilli peppers, soup..

If you can inhance the fever, the faster the virus will leave your body

Like my grandmother did in the old days, drink some hot tea and sweet it off

My son's Hispanic grandmother taught me this. She always said a fever needed to be sweated out.

Same thing seems to apply to icing an area that is swelling, bruised, etc. As a mountain biker I get minor bumps and scraps quite often and recently stopped applying cold to affected areas and have noticed that they heal, feel much better in shorter periods of time, if I let the body do it's thing. I also stopped the Rest, Compression and Elevation and pretty amazed at the difference in typical recovery times. The scars are also far less noticeable after the injury as well.

I rarely get sick. I don't have a regular doctor, I don't use anti bacterial soaps, I don't use hand sanitizer. I don't use sun screen and I spend a lot of time outside.
I also don't wear masks.

Exactly, people have forgotten that we detox too. The medical establishment have weponised the bodies natural responses.

I usually get into a nice hot bath when I get a fever. It almost always shortens the time it would normally take to shake it off!

I read in an old book 30yrs old written by a dr ( i don't remember name of book or dr) if your temperature stays at 104 . The whole body heals everything And the body. You allow the fever to run its course just can't change from a 104

Ah, yes. This is why I love you and your information SO much Dr. Berg. People have been conditioned to fear our bodies natural immune responses and feed them with drugs. I believe in my immune system and thanks for reminding me why!!

Dr. Berg is world treasure. I had a little fever this morning and I raised up my temperature (sweating) walking uphill and now I feel relief.

I thought my Grandmother was gonna kill me when I got sick with a fever. She took an electric blanket and put it on me to break the fever. I remember being so weak, that I couldn't move.
