So few people understand what you say: The Palestinian leadership is less interested in having a Palestinian state than wanting to eliminate the whole Israeli state.

Ah yes, Operation Thunderbolt in Entebbe - the most heroic epic endeavor a Western country undertook in the second half of the 20th century. It's mindboggling how much of this heroism has since been lost even in Israel.
I recorded a song about this operation, it's on my music channel under the title "Operation Thunderbolt - tribute to IDF" or similar

Thank you! It was very interesting to learn and I think it will help many people to understand this problem.

Thank you. I myself lived in Israel, and was pro Israel without knowing all details either. Going through lectures on Israeli history from ARI book store, helped me with background knowledge.

What people don't understand when we say this isn't a nationalist but a religious war, is that the same Phatwah (Islamic religious decree) that stands for the violent take-over of Israel, is still relevant for ALL countries who ever been under Islamic rule - and that includes both modern day Spain, and modern day Greece. The argument you, a rational western-thinker would have is that before the Muslim conquest of those lands they were Christian/European nations to begin with... well the same exacts reasoning is with Israel case, who've been the Jews' historical homeland before Roman (and later, Arab) conquest.

Fascinating talk. It's amazing that some people take up causes without studying the objective facts.

I thouroughly recommend everyone read Bayard Rustin's 1975 article entitled, The PLO: Freedom Fighters or Terrorists?, that was originally published in the Chicago Defender on January 18th, 1975.

great sharing, Nikos! i loved your humility in detailing your turnaround on this subject. the root of this conflict is a purely religious one from only one side; it's not to live in peace until they get what they want, legal or not, right or not.

This is the exact narration I was raised with in Poland as well, reinforced by college indoctrination and media misinformation. Involvement with libertarianism did not help me clear this up. Fortunately in 2009 I listened to all Ayn Rand's public lectures from ARI website and it really did provide me proper framework to assess foreign affairs and politics.

25:30 The children are defintely worthy of your "bleeding heart" sympathy. Consider the story Christopher brought up in the chat, those children had no say in whether they lived or died, all on account of their tribalistic twat of a father who outright dared IDF to bomb his house and taking his children with it.

I have reasonable doubts as to whether whether this emotion should be extended to include the adults as well. Didn't Palestine have at least one general election back in '07? Didn't the registered voters ever the opportunity to vote in favour a political platform focusing on reconciling with, as opposed to the destruction of, Israel? The saying "you get as you vote" seems applicable at least to some extent in this context.

Thank you for truth that not everyone tries to search for and blame Israel for not coming crime but opposite is true

You took you a while given your age and education but it takes a real man to change course, admit it and express it so clearly.

While I'm pro Israeli, they are not completely blameless. As mentioned there is some gray.
