Growing up, I thought I was some sort of freak of nature for being bisexual. The church hammered into my brain that I should only be with a man. Yet, I had crushes on both boys and girls. I remember slapping myself whenever I had thoughts of being with a girl and feeling tremendous shame for wanting to be with both genders. It wasn't until I became a young adult that I realized there are so many others like me. It took years of reconciliation with myself but I'm now proud to say that I'm happy and comfortable with who I am.
