In general the 1300 GS is an improved machine comparing to the predecessor 1250 GS. The bike feels and behaves better in every aspect. It’s more nimble lightweight and better maneuverable but despite all that you have to recognize is a big bike! Love what they’ve made with the new GS 1300. It’s a new and much intelligent/ capable bike.😊

I feel the GS has been more or less perfect since 1200GS, the biggest improvement they need to give these bikes is backlighting for the switchgear

Very good review, thank you so much for covering how smoothly or not the tranny works.

If you switch to dynamic the auto switches gear later/ higher in the rpm's

Poor guy on a Harley crashed as he tried to pass the van at @10:22
Surely you stopped to check on him.

The most interesting thing about the suspensions is it makes the GS feel a little bit wild, I assume this may be influenced by the low weight and possibly other factors too. While the previous generation and the biggest competitor feel more "unbothered" by whatever the road and the rider throw at them, new GS feels wilder. Unlike KTM, it never gets uncomfortable, in fact it is still one of the more comfortable machines out there but the feeling is different...

It is also smaller, I got 95 cm (~38 in) inseam and the fit felt just-so. Were I a bit taller, it could have been uncomfortable, which is a stark difference from previous BMWs which were made to fit large people too. But unlike Tiger or SAS, it still works well with my height. Smaller people have also commented on this, although it is a plus for them.

The automatic gearbox is an interesting addition, I didn't like it on Africa but ~50% of people buy it so it definitely has potential to sell. With KTM introducing it too, I wonder what the response of Ducati will be as they could be missing the train against their biggest competitors.

By the speed you overtake cars in the city you are quite the hooligan 😅
You obviously have exceptionally quick reflexes and instincts but you must be prepared for those to fade as the years go by and luck runs out…😢
Always remember Cristian Predoi from Racing&Adventure YT channel who was also a very ‘enthusiastic’ rider that found his demise on a big GS of all bikes…
Stay safe 🙏🙏

what about slow manoeuvring and tight u-turns with asa? The only thing I would miss the clutch for are exactly those. With my 1250 I rarely use clutch shifting up and down on the road but rather use the quick shifter

You forgot con number 11 or did you? Maybe part of BMW giving you the bike to test, was not to mention the luggage cases can fall off. And hence can now not be purchased with bike till june 2025 until a modification is made.Correct me if i am wrong, or if i am right delete the comment. You tube bloggers are now becoming like mainstream media, telling you 90% of the story, in order to maintain favor with product supplier.

but other youtubers say that the behaviour of the ASA changes according to the riding modes, e.g. in dynamic mode the shifter becomes more aggressive, can you please clarify your opinion on this?

The new GS 13 is better, in most ways. Nobody makes a worse, new gen bike, especially BMW whether you prefer the 1250 or 1300 is irrelevant.

Why can’t a bike just be a bike without all this fancy tech!!!!

What happened to the dude who crashed?

I agree. The previous GS1250 is better. The new GS1300 range is not great looking especially the GSA1300, ugly. Never buy one.
