I tried several luts but they don't fix it like in the video in fact it makes the footage worse. Am I doing something wrong?

Followed the install tutorial and put the LUTs in the correct folder BUT they are not showing up when I select LUTs for my new node

Iphone 12 with Logv3 10 bit, no HDR global tone mapping, with this lut looks horrible. I don't know how it managed but the regular standard 8 bit video from the camera does a way better job than this. Its much sharper and crisper and it doesn't completely send the highlights way out of wack. I mean sure the colors are better but what good is the colors if the image is noticeably softer and the highlights are clipped out permanently?
