Bring your lunch and your curiosity! UCL Lunch Hour Lectures, Tuesdays and Thursdays, Darwin Lecture Theatre, 1.15 - 1.55pm (term time)

Biological invasions by aliens (in this context, species transported by human actions to areas in which they do not naturally occur) represent one of the primary ways in which people are changing global biodiversity. Biological invasions are a consequence of a combination of factors - human actions, species characteristics, and environmental conditions - and so their study weaves together elements of history, biology, and geography. I will give an insight into aspects of the study of alien invasions focusing on birds as a model taxon.
