SES is a world-leading satellite operator that provides satellite-enabled communications services to broadcasters, Internet service providers, mobile and fixed network operators, and business and governmental organizations worldwide using its fleet of more than 50 geostationary satellites. SpaceX is targeting an evening launch of SES-9 from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. The approximately 90-minute launch window opens on March 4 at 11:35 pm UTC. The satellite will be deployed approximately 31 minutes after liftoff.

Excellent work SpaceX team! The landing on re-entry is just a matter of time, perseverance. The comprehensive presentation of all aspects of the launch and orbit was extremely enjoyable. Thanks for keeping this grandma in the loop.

Can we call it a Schrödinger's first stage?

SpaceX, you really can be honest with us and just tell us that the first stage blew up. You obviously have the telemetry.
Don't be afraid of sharing it with the public. We all appreciate your effort and are amazed by your achievements.

EDIT: See my reponse below: I believe the statement of the moderator that they saw the same video footage as we did. But I doubt that they don't have telemetry 5 or more minutes after the landing attempt. Not video footage but telemetry.

Well good try on the barge, I hope they post the "hard landing" video, those are still fun to watch.

Well done. I very much appreciate that you guys explain this in so much detail. Although satellites are launched to geostationary orbit since about 50 years, I've never seen such a detailed explanation.

right after the 2nd stage re ignition around 37 minutes, the very next video cut is the feed from the first stage, the reflection of the water from what looks like within a cone. Trippy!

My car takes less than 11 seconds from 0 to 100 kph too! 👍
You got me beat in top speed though. 100 kph doesn't even show one pixel in the speed dial here.

I think I speak for many thousands of people when I ask that we would like to see the video of the first stage landing attempt. We're dying of curiosity to see what happend. We know it was a hard landing, but we want to see! Also, congratulations on the success of such a difficult launch, and, good luck landing next time! The space fan community is rooting for you!
