I can't think of anything more agonizing than such a puzzling disappearance of family members. It would literally drive me insane.

goes to show how corrupt people in position of power in small towns can make life a heartache

This is the 3rd time I've heard this story and each time I've learned more info. I don't remember anything about George trying to start one of his work trucks to get to the kids. Sad they went to their graves non knowing what happened.

I think from the fact the ladder was moved, and movement on the roof awoke the mother, that it's pretty clear the kids were removed from the home and a fire was lit to cover the kidnappings. I don't think it was a town conspiracy, as it would have targeted the father for retribution, not the youngest kids. Chances are high one of the weird encounters were actually the kidnappers, which is often the case. Kidnappers are known to take an active hand in "helping the search." The kidnappings are sinister, as they were all old enough to know who they are, and where they come from. Allowing them to live was too risky. The 6 year old may have survived, after long enough to forget her old family, but the elder children were likely murdered within the first year, assuming they were kept hidden underground for abuse at all.

Jennie woke up like three times and somehow went back to sleep. Once I'd been awaken the second time sleeping wouldn't be happening. I'd just be woke and annoyed the entire night. Paranoid to.

Great video :) such a sad but fascinating case. Here are a couple of additional interesting facts if you’re interested. In regards to the picture of Louis that was addressed to the mom, Jennie, she did had a brother named Frank Cipriani, who could be “brother Frankie”. The Sodder family had initially suspected him because he lived in Florida. There were witnesses who saw the children get into cars with Florida licence plates. Even the Sodders believed this theory that Jennie’s brother took them because it would’ve been someone they knew.

Another point to mention is that the house belonged to Jennie’s father and it was unsettled. When he died, it was left to Jennie. Jennie and her brothers, Frank, and Jimmie, who was one of the volunteer firefighters at the scene, were fighting over the house. The man who threatened them, George’s former boss who knew Frank, also mentioned that Jennie wasn’t signing the settlement papers since he wanted it in her brothers favour.

Thank you again for a great video.

Are there any children or grandchildren of the surviving children? Maybe they could do a 23 & me test.

my theory. the phone line was not mistaken for a power line and the man who cut it was the insurance man threatening the family with their house in flames, someone snuck into the house and taken the five missing kids before sneaking into the father's office and lighting a match in the electrical box

I honestly find this story so interesting since they have no trace, it is also similar to the Beaumont children case

Heart-wrenching. The details of this tragedy are chilling. My heart goes out to the Sodder family. Their relentless pursuit of answers amidst such uncertainty is truly inspiring.

The fact that there was a non fire damaged vertebrate found on the property could possibly suggest that the kids were killed earlier & buried (Jenny) & then the fire was set deliberately in hopes of covering it up.

George worked as a coal miner.
If there was a coal pile in the basement as some believe then the fire would've burned much hotter than your typical house fire once the coal ignited.

This is a case I am glad to see Infographics actually take the time to bother with putting some attempt at representing period clothing in the "graphics". Although what we see here is way closer to the late 1890s than the 1940s😂

If the kids survived, i hope that their DNA results connect with each other down the road on ancestry or 23and me, and they can piece things together
