$112 vs $14 Loaded Waffles: Pro Chef & Home Cook Swap Ingredients | Epicurious

Professional baker Bill Clark and home cook Daniel are swapping ingredients and hitting the kitchen to have a crack at each other's loaded waffle recipe. We set Daniel up with $112 worth of supplies - everything he’d need to make Bill’s marbled pumpernickel waffles with citrus-cured salmon and homemade cream cheese. Meanwhile, a more modest $14 worth of ingredients was sent back the other way for Bill to elevate into something gourmet. As is customary, food scientist Rose dialed in for a conference call to answer some questions Daniel had along the way. Alright, no more waffling: which one of these loaded waffles looks best to you?

I don't think any chef has elevated a dish as much as Bill elevated this Strawberry Waffle. It's actually unreal how good that looks.

The expensive ones are nice but I love what the chefs do with the cheaper Ingredients it is nice to see that.

"What did I possibly give you that could make custard?" "Eggs, milk, maple." Daniel looked like his world just expanded. This was a great chef pairing.

Seeing Daniel going from the guy people hate because of his blueberry grilled cheese to fan favorite is the redemption arc we need these days.

Can we all agree that Chef bill actually uses technique to enhance a dish and not just add ingredients?

Yess, , , finally .... i'm here to see Daniel. Cz I like his personality. He's adorable, charming, funny, and positive. And also i like that he did this episode with chef Bill. It's like a perfect combo.

Daniel celebrated cracking those eggs like Tom Hanks making fire in "Castaway."

I love that the chef didn't add anything in order to take the strawberry waffles to the next level. He just worked with what he was given.

The food both looks so good. The twist on the bagel is very cool

pretty sure every level 3 chef has been crushiing it but chef bill well he made that look and feel on a completely different level. i am pretty sure noby has elevated any dish with as little ingredients as much and i find it weird that apart from that dehydrator everythhing is achieveable by someone who can make deserts.
