It really is a mystery. Do we know exactly how old they are? No. The manpower req just to carve them let alone move them is immense. Levitating 80 ton? the amount of energy req is unthinkable. All I can think of is the land mass must've been much larger back 'then', perhaps continent size since been inundated which might suggest a pre melt era so >12kya. Interesting stuff .

pretty sure they would just walk them with ropes rocking side to side they could tug it and make it walk forward with two groups of people taking turns tugging at each side while slightly ahead of it and it would appear as if it were walking.

Uhhh sorry but I saw a docu on (I think discovery or national Geographic) and there the people (walked) the statues to there place..with ropes standing straight up and then rocking little to the right and then left side and so the creep to there place...so no levitating or floating statues just a lot of people rope and a lot of time

I watched a video that solved the mystery of how they got there, they used ropes tied around the neck for the statue and they pulled on the ropes and rocked it left and right which gave it the appearance of “walking”
